Unity.

I wanna sleep. I need sleep, but I can't sleep just yet. Waiting for my hair to air dry before plopping myself into bed so might as well scribble a bit here first.

The whole day was spent at Cineleisure. I was hoping the night before that everything would run smoothly but unfortunately, certain things ended being screwed up. Other than that, the day was alright.

The Thailand team really touched my heart. This is their second time performing at C3 and their first time competing. The Thai faces were really familiar to all of us so we welcomed them with thunderous applause each time they made a move came up on the mat.

When it was finally time for Rainbows (the Thai boys) to perform, everything went okay until suddenly one of them did a tumble and landed on his knee. He couldn't move and the music had to be stopped. They brought him over to the side and sprayed something on the knee so it would be numb. By then, a few of them started tearing to see their friend suffering in pain.

However, the one injured was extremely determined to complete the performance so he went back on the mat with his mates and started the whole performance again and it was just so awesome! Even with his injury, they managed to pull off the stunts and complete the entire show. In the end, so many of them cried because despite the accident, they still did it. When I looked at their faces, I couldn't help but to go 'Awww'. (in my heart of course, not literally)

I have to admit that that moment was dramatic yet very emotional. They were so united that it just puts a smile on your face automatically whenever you see them. I think this essence of unity is really important in order for a team to succeed.

That being said, the teams here have a lot to pick up from them. From the showmanship to the unity right to the determination.

What I just witnessed today was truly inspiring.

Happy 21st Jasmine!

Okay, I figured that I left the picture of my feet hanging at the top of my blog long enough. It's time for an update.

Went to Pyramid last night to celebrate Jasmine's 21st. The initial plan was to go to The Curve but since it was already kinda late, we decided to opt for somewhere nearer. Dined at Itallianese, ambience was too quiet. We practically owned the whole level. Heh.

Moved to Old Town after that to chat some more.

Wanted a group picture so we called the waiter to help us snap. Turned out he had shaky hands :(

The two pictures below are self-timer shots.

Once again, Happy 21st Birthday Jazzie! I hope you enjoyed your night and presents :)

Ouch :(

Let's play a guessing game.

Guess which side of my foot got sprained and swelled up like a ball?
No prize for guessing correctly though because I think it's pretty obvious based on the picture.

It's times like this when I miss my kakak, cos she would always help me rub sloan on the swollen ankle whenever I complained of the pain. :(

Framed.

Today I got accused for something I did not do. In other words, I got framed.

Know why?

Well, I was attending a class today and somehow this class entertains me because of the lecturer. Her English is not very good, therefore when she speaks, she tends to make mistakes. In fact, a lot of them.

Some of the mistakes are tolerable.

But when she speaks like that, she has to understand that it is really difficult for us students to refrain from giggling.

So today, she said something which tickled my funny bone again.

She was talking about globalisation and it somehow ended up to some countries with natural disasters, many dead bodies, dig up a hole, throw them in, crenemate them.

Yeah, cremate turned to crenemate.

Then obviously I couldn't help it but to smile. Even before I giggled, she started accusing my friends and I for distracting her from teaching! She said that this is the non-verbal communication type of distraction. *roll eyes*

I even told my family about what she said in the previous class and they all agreed it was funny okay.

Guess what was it?

Paralyze turned to...

Crazy people.

Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry due to being stuck with my bunch of classmates in uni. To be honest, the first day I entered my class, I was sceptical about how would I be able to survive the 3 years with them in order to complete my degree programme.

I have to admit that I had a very high 'ego' and I refused to talk to anyone unless spoken to first. Things didn't get easier for me based on the fact that 90% of them were guys and came from very different backgrounds. Many of whom were foreigners.

After two weeks or so, I finally got to know this bunch a little bit better though the feeling of discomfort was somehow still there.

During our breaks, we would all go down to the cafeteria and play spin the bottle after Leeman finished his Red Bull. It was indeed quite a creative way to break the ice among us, although most of the questions were inappropriate. Lol.

The only disadvantage of being one of the few girls in my class is getting 'bullied' by them. They would hide my pencil case, wallet, handphone, bottle (and anything else visible to their eyes) and only return it to me upon the end of class. (It's not funny okay) There was also once when someone took my handphone case and threw it to another friend, and it landed on the floor! I thought my handphone was in it so I screamed! I was so scared I didn't know whether to laugh or cry (again).

Another example would be what happened just yesterday. We walked over to Summit to have lunch at McD's. There was some leftover fries and guess what did they do to that poor packet of fries? They put it inside a white paper bag and wrote my number and name on it and the message was somewhat like this:

If found please return it to:

Florence

016-*******

P.S Be my hero

I know right. I'm speechless as well.

The next thing I knew, some random fella texted me, 'I have found ur fries wat do I do wid it'.

I started suspecting everybody in the class because I thought the guys might have used somebody's number to pull a prank on me. They said it wasn't them and asked me to reply back.

So I said, 'throw it away hahah'

Then the reply came back, 'So sad. I tot I could take it to u and meet u'.

Look at what my friends have done to me! Crazy bunch la.

If you're wondering, I'm still sceptical about the 3 years, though very much less. I think I can survive la. (But that doesn't give you guys the right to continue bullying me ah! I might just unleash my anger one fine day.)

RAWR!

I have PCS.

Yes, a syndrome. PCS for precordial catch syndrome.
I was devastated when I found out I had this syndrome. I didn't know what to do...

Thank God for Wikipedia, or else I would have thought I was abnormal/dying.

Read more to find out what is this about.

Children having children?

Got this from an e-mail. Thought it might be an interesting read for those of you who have not read it in the newspaper yet! Hehe.

Baby-faced boy Alfie Patten is father at 13

BOY dad Alfie Patten yesterday admitted he does not know how much nappies cost — but said: “I think it’s a lot.”
Baby-faced Alfie, who is 13 but looks more like eight, became a father four days ago when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman gave birth to 7lb 3oz Maisie Roxanne.
He told how he and Chantelle, 15, decided against an abortion after discovering she was pregnant.
The shy lad, whose voice has not yet broken, said: “I thought it would be good to have a baby.
“I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me 10.”
Little family ... Alfie, Chantelle and baby Maisie

Lee Thompson Alfie, who is just 4ft tall, added: “When my mum found out, I thought I was going to get in trouble. We wanted to have the baby but were worried how people would react.
“I didn’t know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it.”
Alfie's story, broken exclusively by The Sun today has sparked a huge political storm with Tory leader David Cameron saying: "When I saw these pictures this morning, I just thought how worrying that in Britain today children are having children.
"I hope that somehow these children grow up into responsible parents but the truth is parenthood is just not something they should be thinking about right now."
Secret
PM Gordon Brown refused to comment directly on the story but said it was important that the Government did all it could to prevent teenage pregnancies.
Alfie’s dad Dennis yesterday told how the lad does not really understand the enormity of his situation — but seemed desperate to be a devoted and responsible father.
He wanted to be the first to hold Maisie after the hospital birth. He tenderly kisses the baby and gives her a bottle.
And Dennis, 45, said: “He could have shrugged his shoulders and sat at home on his Playstation. But he has been at the hospital every day.”
Maisie was conceived after Chantelle and Alfie — just 12 at the time — had a single night of unprotected sex.
They found out about the baby when Chantelle was 12 weeks pregnant.
But they kept it a secret until six weeks later when Chantelle’s mum Penny, 38, became suspicious about her weight gain and confronted her. Devoted ... Alfie holds and cuddles Maisie

Lee Thompson After that Alfie’s family told only those closest to them for fear he would be “demonised” at school.
Chantelle gave birth to Maisie on Monday night after a five-hour labour at Eastbourne Hospital, East Sussex.
Last night she told The Sun: “I’m tired after the birth. I was nervous after going into labour but otherwise I was quite excited.”
Chantelle told how she discovered she was expecting after going to her GP with “really bad” stomach pains. She said: “Me and Alfie went. The doctor asked me whether we had sex. I said yes and he said I should do a pregnancy test. He did the test and said I was pregnant. I started crying and didn’t know what to do.
“He said I should tell my mum but I was too scared.
“We didn’t think we would need help from our parents. You don’t really think about that when you find out you are pregnant. You just think your parents will kill you.”
But Penny figured out what was going on after buying Chantelle a T-shirt which revealed her swelling tum.
Chantelle admitted she and Alfie — who are both being supported by their parents — would be accused of being grossly irresponsible. She said: “We know we made a mistake but I wouldn’t change it now. We will be good loving parents.
“I have started a church course and I am going to do work experience helping other young mums.
“I’ll be a great mum and Alfie will be a great dad.”

Caring ... Alfie bottle feeds his little daughter

Lee Thompson Chantelle and Maisie were released from hospital yesterday. They are living with Penny, Chantelle’s jobless dad Steve, 43, and her five brothers in a rented council house in Eastbourne. The family live on benefits. Alfie, who lives on an estate across town with mum Nicola, 43, spends most of his time at the Steadmans’ house.
He is allowed to stay overnight and even has a school uniform there so he can go straight to his classes in the morning.
Alfie’s dad, who is separated from Nicola, believes the lad is scared deep down.
He said: “Everyone is telling him things and it’s going round in his head. It hasn’t really dawned on him. He hasn’t got a clue of what the baby means and can’t explain how he feels. All he knows is mum and dad will help.
“When you mention money his eyes look away. And she is reliant on her mum and dad. It’s crazy. They have no idea what lies ahead.”
Dennis, who works for a vehicle recovery firm, described Alfie as “a typical 13-year-old boy”.
He said: “He loves computer games, boxing and Manchester United.” Dennis, who has fathered nine kids, told how he was “gobsmacked” when he discovered Alfie was to be a dad, too.
He said: “When I spoke to him he started crying. He said it was the first time he’d had sex, that he didn’t know what he was doing and of the complications that could come.
“I will talk to him again and it will be the birds and the bees talk. Some may say it’s too late but he needs to understand so there is not another baby.”

Chantelle’s mum said: “I told her it was lovely to have the baby but I wish it was in different circumstances. We have five children already so it’s a big financial responsibility. But we are a family and will pull together and get through.
“She’s my daughter. I love her and she will want for nothing.”
Last night Michaela Aston, of the anti-abortion Christian charity LIFE, said: “We commend these teenagers for their courage in bringing their child into the world.
“At the same time this is symptomatic of the over-sexualisation of our youngsters and shows the policy of value-free sex education just isn’t working.”
Today Sussex Police and the local council's children services said they have investigated the case and pledged continued support for the young parents.
Britain’s youngest known father is Sean Stewart. He became a dad at 12 when the girl next door, 15-year-old Emma Webster, gave birth in Sharnbrook, Bedford, in 1998. They split six months later.

J & K + 8.

My current favourite TV show in the mornings is Jon & Kate Plus Eight. It's totally cute. It revolves around a family of 10 and what normally goes on in their home. The couple has a pair of twins, Madelyn and Cara. Madelyn is the sarcastic and funny one, while Cara is more of the reserved type. The couple decided to try for another one but ended up having sextuplets! Three girls and three boys. And they are all too adorable! They just make you go awww and it really puts a smile on your face just by watching them on TV.

The mom had to go for liposuction with all those excess fats at her tummy after birth. Now she looks so hot you cannot even tell she is a mother of eight kids. Amazing!

Being a mum, Kate is definitely the one who feels the stress most of the time and she is really strict with the kids. Jon, on the other hand, loves playing with his kids. There was this episode where the kids were playing dress up and then Kate told them that it was enough and they should pack everything up and get to bed. Jon retorted back by saying, 'It's only 6, party pooper!' Hahaha.

Then there was this other scene where Jon went rollerblading with the twins leaving the rest behind at home. His wife yelled at him 'Jon! You can't leave the kids behind like that!' Then she turned to the camera and said, 'Sometimes I wonder if I had 9 kids, now I know the answer.' HAHAHAH.

Them on the Oprah Winfrey show!

Don't you just feel like grabbing all of them and pinching their cheeks? Heheh.

V-Day

Valentines Day is approaching. To all the couples out there, it's just another excuse to celebrate love. Don't get me wrong, I think Valentines Day is perfectly fine if not really sweet when you watch couples celebrating this day. It's just that, being single at this time does indeed suck. I'm trying really hard to put this in a right way, trying not to sound desperate. Hahah. I think if I were really desperate to get a partner, I would have so layaned those messages which typically go, 'Hi, my name is XXX, I'm from KL, mind to b frens?' But thank God I have not reached that point, so please refrain from labelling me as a despo, thanks.

Anyway, I guess those cliche lines about 'Who cares if you're single? Go celebrate it with your girl friends instead!' doesn't really work on me because somehow I think that's just...ah, I can't seem to find the word.

A friend who shall not be named, recently asked me, "So tell me, what's your type of ideal guy?" Before I could open my mouth to answer, the friend continued, "And please don't tell me ang moh or whatever ah."

Hahaha. I don't think I have an answer to that question yet.

It's okay. I'll get through that coming day like how I got through it over the years. Well, at least there is something I can be glad about, I get to skip the part of needing to spend money or worry over what would be the perfect gift to get for my partner.

Happy Valentines Day everyone, whether you like it or hate it. =)

15. Before I sleep, I tend to get deep into thoughts, which will then lead to another thought, and another, and then I will forget what got me thinking in the first place.

24. I still twirl my hair and it's a habit which I hope will eventually stop.
25. I have a very sweet tooth and that explains my love for chocolates!

Happy CNY!!

Hello everybody!

Sorry I have not been updating much. Let's just say my holidays so far have been treating me well! =)
Besides that, I am really psyched about CNY! Yay! Awesome! Woohoo! Whee! (Just to prove how excited I am. Heh)

Yesterday the family had spring cleaning in the house and I literally broke a chair! Hahha. I was using that chair as a platform to climb onto another chair and the short chair broke causing a huge hole right in the middle! Oh my. This is definitely a sign telling me to watch what I eat.

Then Dad brought us out for a nice family dinner and a really last minute shopping at Pyramid. Finding for an empty parking lot there was a breeze. I love it when people 'balik kampung'. Everything is suddenly so peaceful. Hehe.
FYI, if you didn't already know, I'm local. My dad's from PJ, mum's from Cheras.

I am so into the festive mood I even painted my nails red!
I am also craving for 'bak gua' but mum said it is so expensive she has decided to boycott it this year. "-_-
How can?!?!
What's CNY without 'bak gua' right!
It's just like a book without words, pen without ink, Britney without panties.
You get the drift.

Happy CNY people! Gong Hei Fatt Choi!! May you get loads of ang paos this year! =)

False alarm.

I just checked my e-mail a couple of minutes ago and got a notification from FB informing that someone has just added me.

The e-mail content was like this:

"Hi...r u flower a.k.a Florence tat met in Euphoria? I'm james =) hopefully i'm not adding the wrong person =) ."

Note the smiley faces: there were two of it! (He must be really happy at this point)

When I logged on to my FB to see how this James person look like, I realized he found out soon enough that I was not the flower he was searching for because the friend request was not there anymore. Hahah.

He must have gotten so excited to have thought he found his flower but then it ended up being a false alarm.

Anyway, I have been told a couple of times I have a clubber look. What is that supposed to mean!

When I finally confess that I don't go clubbing, they will go, 'Sure or not...?'

Yes la I'm sure okay. I quote Jeremy/Jon: 'Bluff you for what? Got money ar?' Heheh.

Okay, time for dinner. Makan!

P.S CNY's coming! And I have not done any shopping. How can this be?! Oh noes. This calls for an emergency!! Shall go out tomorrow. Heh.

P.P.S Wah I can foresee that I will put on weight cum this festive season. How to avoid all those CNY cookies you tell me? They usually come in such small sizes, I am sure my mind will tell me 'It's okay, a bite or two won't hurt.' Then by the time I know it, I am gonna finish everything up in the jar.
People who don't want me finishing their food: please keep it a distance away from me.
Friends who still love me: please tell me to stop when you see me munching uncontrollably. =)

Double madness.

Yay. Today is a happy day.

I'm stress-free because I am off from classes for about a month. Heh.
SEGi should really do something about the parking though. It's madness. So many cars, so little space. :(

Wanted to go for a Jap buffet at Mont Kiara called Tenji cos they are having a promotion and the pictures looked really tempting. Called them up but they said they're fully booked, right up till the 19th even though the promotion ends on the 15th! Madness again!

I should really make use of my holidays before classes resume again.

Off to cheerleading practice now! Bye peeps.

P.S Heh. I should really stop with the double and triple thing in the title. How annoying I am. =p

Wednesday, January 07, 2009

Triple S.

I am in a state where I am sad, stressed, and self-conscious all at once. Great, what a combo.

Why stressed? Assignments, loans, and exams, 'nuff said.

Why sad? Oh, I don't even wanna talk about it.

Why self-conscious? Because I currently talk like I have a short tongue. There's an ulcer on my tongue and it just makes speaking and chewing/tasting my food so difficult! =(

I am not trying to wallow in self-pity, nor am I asking for sympathy.

Then what am I trying to prove? I really don't know.

Sigh.

Ugh. Forget it. 14th Jan, please arrive ASAP.

Outing to Pavilion & Kenko.

As if the title wasn't obvious enough, let me repeat it again.

Mum decided to bring the entire family out for hang kai at Pavilion because she has not been there before since it existed. The parking fee at Pavilion is insane, I still wonder why people are so willing to park there. (Dad included)

So we just pretty much loitered around the mall, with Fiona bugging the parents to quickly search for a restaurant cos her stomach was growling. Haha.

As for me, I guess I am still having the Mamma Mia! fever because each time we saw an ang moh, I would stop and say to Sarah, 'Look! That's [insert cast name] over there!'

And Sarah bought it for the first time I played that trick. Hehe.

Finally, we settled at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng for dinner. I actually prefer Kim Gary's to Wong Kok but dad seem to favour Wong Kok so much more until he even signed up for a membership card.
The view was amazing. We could actually see the Twin Towers from the restaurant.

Right after dinner, Fiona & I headed to Kenko Fish Spa to pamper our feet! Lol. The fish spa treatment was complimentary thanks to hunky Mr Low Shermund for giving me vouchers. Hehe. Thanks ya!
At the entrance.

We were requested to wash and scrub our feet beforehand.

Picture of Fiona's leg. It looks damn gross right. Hahah.

I honestly don't know if it was due to kiasu-ness or what but she got used to it like super fast okay! I, on the other hand, was struggling so bad to keep both my feet underwater. It was such a tingling sensation, I had to withdraw my legs every 3 seconds or so on the first few times.

Our faces after getting used to the ticklish feeling.

A fish jumped out from the water. Mum and Dad were so mean. They commented that the fish couldn't take the odour of our feet so it decided to commit suicide. Hahah. Lame!
This section was where they kept larger fishes. Surprisingly, it was not as ticklish as the smaller ones.Kenko's layout.
Overall, I would say it was a fun experience! Go try it and get tickled hahah.

I cannot believe how the year 2008 is ending in less than a few hours. Nevertheless, I am definitely looking forward in ushering the new year with a fresh beginning.

Happy 2009 everyone!

Merry Christmas!

Everybody loves celebrating Christmas. Some even said it is the best season of the year. While we may all enjoy receiving and giving presents, eating stuffed turkey, decorating Christmas trees and all that jazz, we must never neglect the true meaning of Christmas.

The purpose of this day is to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please do not give credits and any attention to Santa Claus cos I don't even know how this made up character even existed or contributed in this world.

The siblings and I decided to record our home-made video again. This time we managed to influence the youngest one to join in our group. (We're expanding!) Hahaha.

Please do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT laugh at us or diss us okay. Heheh. You can always not click on the 'Play' icon if you don't wanna listen to it. I'm not forcing you. But oh well, if you insist, the song's called Feliz Navidad! I'm sure all of you know this right? Feel free to sing along hahah! (You know you want to!) Enjoy!

Have a joyous Christmas everybody!
(Note to self and you reading this: Go slow on the food!)

A night to remember.

Last night was definitely a night to remember!

I loved every bit of it and was pumped up even before I reached the place. You know they say not to have too high expectations of something in case it does not reach your level of expectation?

Well, I did not bother about that saying and had really high expectations about the musical right from the beginning.

My verdict of the musical? It did not disappoint me at all plus it met every single bit of my expectations and beyond! I give it a 1000 thumbs-up! (Cos I'm positive the audience would agree with me) Yes, it was that good. It kept me grinning like an idiot throughout the entire show. =)

The energy exuded by the casts were amazing. The singing and dancing were awesome! They belted out 23 songs in total.

What made the show extra special was because we were seated so near to the stage, we could literally see the band like right below us. I swear I can even read their music notes on the music stand. Hahah. The stage was apart from our seats by just a mere 3m! We were that close to the casts. And even closer to the musicians. I personally loved the music a lot!

Man, the musicians were soo hot! Especially the guitarists and the drummer. Hahah, we were so distracted from watching the musical. Our eyes did not know where to focus.

The casts were all too good-looking! (Fiona drooled a bucketful of saliva)

The acting was superb. The lines were almost exact like the lines from the movie. The only difference is that they added a bit more in this musical. Oh, and there was quite a number of boob-grabbing during the scenes! I'm quite surprised they're so open-minded here in a country like Malaysia. =p

The only downside is that there were not much leg room from our seats. Comfort wasn't an issue since our eyes were too busy 'feasting' on the casts. Lol.

We wanted to get up from our seats to groove with them (It was infectious I tell you! Even mum went slightly crazy! hahaa!!) but we were afraid of blocking the other people's view so we changed our minds.
Before the musical started.

The awesome, hot guitarist. *heart melts*

Photography and videography were obviously prohibited in the theatre thus the lack of pictures. Or else I would so prove my point about the good-looking casts!

Front seats! After the show.

Our contented faces.

Truly a night to remember! =D

P.S Poor Daddy wasn't left alone at the corner sniffin' the wall for the entire show. He joined us during the intermission because there were two empty seats beside mine. It was just too perfect. =)
