What?

Hello.

Wow. I'm surprised at myself for even attempting to log in to Blogger and clicking the New Post tab.

My lack of interest in this blog is somehow worrying me. Okay, probably worrying is not the right word to use since I am not really bothered to update it as much as I used to.

I went through a series of unfortunate events this week, was overcome with thoughts of confusion/stress, but things might just turn around.

I should always look at the glass half full, and not half empty. I should really just try not to think too much, but look at things from a simpler view.

I should...but can I?

First time experience.

Have you ever watched a movie in a Gold Class cinema before?

Me neither...
Well, right until a couple of weeks back when my uncle had extra tickets to watch "Wall Street:Money Never Sleeps" at One Utama. Thanks Uncle Jeremy! =)

We were super jakun la. See, the seats are huge and so so comfortable!! Can incline/recline, food & beverages were on the house because the whole cinema was booked that night.

Then obviously we needed to make good use out of it right. So the list of food we ordered were popcorn, 1901 hotdogs, KitKat, meatballs, nuggets, ice blended mocha & cappucino (extremely yums!!). Heh. Okay, before you judge, that was our dinner okay. So, the food intake is pretty acceptable ya? LOL.

Felt so pampered =)

Moving on, my sister and I have brought out our businesswoman skills by setting up a blogshop. So, do drop by, browse freely, and order whatever you want/would want to see in the future!

We are called...the...*jengjengjeng*...

Urban Stylistas!

HAHAHAHAHA. Yeah, couldn't come up with a better name so here's the link:

Spread the word! Thanks y'all!

Celebrity (well, kinda) Crush.

Hey y'all!!!

It's been a long time since I posted a bimbo post. Today, brace yourself for the comeback of the bimbo post.
So right, like just the other day, I caught Step Up 3 with my friends and the dance moves were da shiznit! HAHAH. But that's beside the point!!
You know what else is the shiznit. Or in this case..WHO else is the shiznit. Okay, I should totally stop using the word shiznit cos I bet it's annoying y'all like crazy now, ain't that right? LOL. Okay, okay, stop.

If you don't already know, there's this Asian dude who always plays kinda like the keh leh feh parts. But, who cares? He managed to capture my attention. Heheh.
His name is... Harry Shum Jr!! Yup, he's that dude in Glee! I shall now show you pictures of him in case you still don't know who I am talking about.

*melts*

Honestly, it is not very often I go gaga over Asian guys. He is an exception. WoOoOoo *melts again*.

Okay, I should stop acting like a high school kid.

End.

Bitter Sweet.

One more week until I leave PwC.

I'd be lying if I say this 3 months did not mean anything to me. Let me take you through the journey of this experience I'll never forget. Cheh. =p

So every morning I will wake up in the morning feeling like P.Diddy the most difficult feeling in the world is dragging myself out of bed.
I will wait for the train which always gets delayed.
Cross the busy street.
Have my daily dose of morning exercise.
Tag myself up to the 13th floor. There are no buttons in the lift (only the 'open' and 'close' button) so everything must be done at the lobby!
The reading area. When I get tired looking at the laptop screen for too long, I just need to look out to this view and relax myself for a bit :)

Meet my intern friends!
This is Kim who has already left. She was only here for 2 months. She's the bubbliest person I've ever met! Also, one of the sweetest person I know! On my birthday, she bought me cornish pie for breakfast (because she claims I always don't take proper breakfast which is not true by the way) and a piece of cake from Secret Recipe.
This is Ewen, whom like I said before, my first impression of him was not very nice. But now we can tease each other like crazy and not get offended. Haha. This was taken on a Friday night after work. We always get excited on Fridays! :D

This girl on the left is Cai Ying. She works under the Marketing & Communications department.
This was taken during the The Edge's Rat Race event in front of the Bursa Malaysia building. It was a really interesting event because you get to witness corporate people running the race in their corporate attire!

Another event which we attended to lend our support was the tennis game in the Inter Accounting Firm Games where PricewaterhouseCoopers emerged as the overall champion! Woots!!
So am I happy to be leaving? I guess I can just describe it as a bitter sweet feeling la :)
And to end the post, here are a few pictures taken during my birthday celebration.

Sign of aging.

As you all know, I'm already entering the third month of my internship.

I had a couple of funny (weird?) encounters I faced which I feel I should share with you all.

One young lady from the HR department once came over to us interns, said hello and introduced herself and vice-versa. Shortly after that, she admitted that she thought I and the other intern (who's one year older than I am) were permanent employees in the firm. We ended up laughing but I actually forced a laughter.

Okay...this is not a good sign. I'm old.

"Nevermind", I thought to myself. She's just crapping. Ignore.

Then today, my friends and I went downstairs to buy karipap from the very famous uncle who comes to the office twice weekly. In the midst of waiting, we made friends with a couple of guys from another department and started to chat.

Until, one of them said, "Oh, you're an intern? Really? I thought you're a permanent staff"'.

TWICE. That's the amount of times people have mistaken me for a permanent staff.

I tried comforting myself by talking to my intern friend (who by the way, also got mistaken like me).

"Eh, they don't mean it that way right?? Maybe it's the way I dress. Professional, right? *hopeful*"

"No, face it. You're old.."

"Oh wait! It's either...you're old...or..."

*Eyes lit up again*

"...oh there's nothing else. You're old"

T____T

P.S The karipap Uncle decided to ffk us all and did not show up.

I'm alive!

Hey guys!

Time really flies because I'm already about to finish the second month of my internship. This blog has been neglected because when your daily life revolves around the same routine, there really isn't much to blog about you see.

Facebook is banned in the office so when things get boring, my only source of entertainment is the other two interns. One of whom I thought was really weird when I first met him. Hahaha. He knows about this though, because I already told him lol. Shows how much we've bonded during this period until I can tell that to his face. Hah.

My managers are also pretty cool people. They brought us to many places around KL to makan-makan which is awesome :)

Sure, there might be days when things can get real stressful but I guess this is all part of the learning process.

I've learnt a lot and finally know what it feels like to work in a 9-5 job. I've also mastered a number of skills including the very important skill of pushing & squeezing through the sardine-packed crowd into the train. HAHA. There is no such thing as being polite if you wanna get on board.

Oh! I'm turning 22 soon. NOOOOOO! Am I old or what!? :(

Catch up soon, hopefully! Have a good week people. Cheers! :)

Weirdo?

While I was driving home today, a car wanted to 'potong jalan' and get ahead of me. Since it was jam anyway, I allowed him to cut.

Normally, a person who is grateful after you allow them to cut will wave/raise hand to show a high-five sign as a form of 'thank you'. Universal language la right, I'm sure everybody gets this all the time.

This time though, I got an unusual feedback.

He showed me...

...a peace sign.

Lol. I don't know why but I found it so funny. Haha.

Random update.

Hello!

Can you believe it's gonna be almost a month since I started my internship? How time passes by so quickly! :)

The girls in my family went shopping last night at BTS. Yeah, headed back all the way to KL to shop although I go there everyday now. No complaints though, since it created four very contented souls that evening.

And guess what? Tonight's dinner will be at KL again. International buffet at Hilton with the loved ones. Again, I'm not complaining because when there's food and good company, nothing can go wrong :) Well, except for diarrhoea lah, haha but let's just hope nobody gets it.

Oh, and just for laugh's sake. This one's especially dedicated to all the guitarists out there. For the first time in my life, I changed my own strings!! *clap clap*

But it took me..TWO HOURS to change. HAHAHAHAH! Oh wait for it, that's not the worst part. I also broke one string which was still new which meant that I had to go back to the music store to get another individual string. Then I suddenly had this string phobia that it might snap again, so I brought it to church to ask my friend help me change. And he took like TWO MINUTES to change. Hahah.

And the funniest part is, I accidentally poked myself with the string on my finger that it bled. LOL. What a klutz.

Well, whatever I went through saved me 20 bucks, so I think it's pretty worth it la. To have someone change for you, they'll charge RM20 for service charge.

I successfully changed 5 strings by myself k! Big achievement for a noob like me :) Hahah.

Sighh. How I love the weekends. Here I am typing this on the comfort on my own bed, snuggling beneath the comforter. I can hardly have this kinda time ever since I started work. And to think that tomorrow is work day and the need to squeeze with people in the train totally puts me off.

But let's just put that aside for now and look forward to dinner later. Hehe. I'm such a glutton!

Take care everybody and let's look forward to the next weekend! :)

P.S The new blog template is so pretty right! Hehe!

Kangism

Got a funny joke to share before I head to bed. I was practically laughing the whole day today man. Since morning in church until supper with cheer friends.

So right, we were talking about which hot celebrities we fancy and our answers were..
Me: I like Josh Duhamel!
Fu Hun: OMG. Gerard Butler is so hot..
Chee Wei: I think Ryan Reynolds is not bad.
Sebastian: Mmm. Scarlett Johansen!!
Cheng Choo: (Haha sorry babe I forgot who you mentioned.)
U-Sern: I like Jude Law!
Jun Kang: Hah. What ah. You like JU-ON?

HAHAHHAHAHAHA! His Kangism never ends.

No life.

Now I know how working life feels like. Working life = no life. It is such a fixed routine. By the time I get home, I'll be so tired that I'm guaranteed to be in bed before midnight. Next morning, wake up early, repeat.

Oh, and don't get me started on public transportation. The train always gets delayed, which is really frustrating especially when you're rushing for time. And count your blessings if you ever manage to get a seat.

At first I was so psyched about working. Now? Not anymore. I fell sick yesterday. My mum went, 'Har? So fast need to take MC ah?' Thank God for the speedy recovery.

Oh dear, and it's only the fourth day since I started work.

I really can't see myself working in the near future. Such a dread. Hopefully my perception will change for the better soon.

Charm Cheerleading Championships 2010.

It's over! Finally.

All the planning and meetings we had to attend to organise this competition. It is over. Just in a blink of an eye. We added a new category this year, the South East Asia Full Routine Elite category which Team Malaysia and Team Thailand participated in. The other neighbouring countries did not participate due to unforeseen circumstances.

We had a great panel of judges who came from all over SEA as well as Jessica Colombo who came all the way from the States!

Yours truly participated in three divisions: Cheer Dance Malaysia, Cheer Dance International (under Team Awesome) and South East Asia Full Routine (under Team Malaysia). Won gold, bronze, and gold respectively. Whee!!! I love my team mates! After all the vigorous trainings we had to endure, it is definitely worth it when we found out that we won. We were literally jumping up and down with joy!! I have to admit that it was not an easy fight as Team Thailand was really good.

Champion faces! :)

I heart Team Awesome!

Stunting with Rainbows!
Us with the friendly judges!

Next up, work. Starting work tomorrow and it feels like going to school on the first day. Waking up early in the morning and getting nervous at the same time.
God bless me.
Edit: Work was not as bad as I thought. In fact, colleagues are all really nice :)

My mood just got ruined...

by myself.

Yep. You read right. I just ruined my own mood. I am now feeling depressed.

I am so frustrated at myself. My new cheer attire arrived yesterday, we wore it to practise so I decided to wash it later that night.

This morning, my mum called me up telling me the attire is stained. This is a perfect example when my mind instantly when 'SHITTTTTTT' when I heard her say those words. It's brand NEW, I have NEVER worn it for a performance before and yes, I'll be wearing a stained attire to compete this weekend. My heart is aching :( *angry angry angry*

Argh!! Freakin' pissed at myself. Stupid attire. Why does the colour run so easily?! Then, the girls had to go back to the tailor to alter the skirt because of the tailor's fault on the measurement. They gave the most ridiculous reasons for their mistakes. They claimed the girls lost weight hence the wrong measurement. Stupid or what? All lost weight at the same time??! ARGH. Stupidity.

Please excuse me while I go bang my head on the wall. Bye.

How my parents really are.

Hi readers!

So if you have been following my blog and have read the previous post, you should know by now that I'm gonna start working soon next month. There is a little continuation from that post so if you haven't read it, I suggest you do. Heh.

Prior to the start of my internship, I will need to settle a few things as requested by the company so I decided to seek help from my parents! :p

The following will be the conversation between my parents and I through e-mail. This is me informing them about the offer letter from the company.

Hello, here's my offer letter from PwC I just received this morning.

Few things you should take note of:
1. I need ink in the printer to print out the documents.
2. I need formal office attire for the next three months. Time for shopping!
3. I need to open a Maybank bank account.
4. How do I confirm my acceptance? Just reply 'I accept' ar? Or must type some formal reply? Please help.

Thank you! Your daughter is finally going to work! Woohoo!!

Love,
Florence

A couple of hours later, my mum forwarded that e-mail to my dad's office e-mail because I sent it to his personal e-mail instead. This was what she wrote to him:

Yahooo, our daughter is finally going to work!!! Praise the Lord! Thought you might want to read this first from your office instead of going home to read later. She has listed down a couple of things for both of us to do b4 she starts work!

Hahah. The way my mum replied so cute la! She was so excited that she helped me pass down the instructions from me to my Dad. Whee. Then, this is how my Dad replied me after that..

Dear Florence,
I am glad you are learning to step into the adult working world. Before this you need to brush up on your tidiness and this includes your room. I suggest you start cleaning up your room immediately. Then to instil more discipline in yourself start by sweeping and mopping the house. And to build up more energy for this "demanding" job (according to your sister) begin by getting to bed by 11 pm everyday.By the way , you can place your order for your choice of breakfast with your loving mum every nite before you sleep but make sure a percentage of your allowance goes back to her for service charge.

As for the rest of your requirements , clothes - share with Fiona , printer ink - add water as I told you before , Maybank a/c - thats easy pay RM10 you will get one and for acceptance of letter , if you dont know how I pity your employer la !

Oh, if you're wondering why my Dad asked me to 'add water' to the printer ink, that's because I texted him few days back before this to let him know about the printer running out of ink and asked him how should I deal with it. And his reply was 'add water'.

That's my Dad trying to insult my intelligence! >:(

In this e-mail, my Dad also attempted to take advantage of me to be the 'kakak' in the house.

HAHAHA. My father is super lame. But quite funny lah. I was grinning to myself when I read the reply.

So yup, that's my parents.

PS. I just realised I've been using my parents as my blog content for the past two posts. Heh. Oh noo, does that mean to say that I find them really entertaining?? Haha.

A short testimony.

I am so happy and relieved right now I don't even know where to begin!

Okay, as you know, I've been searching for a company to do my internship and I didn't wanna just simply 'hentam' any company with my resume because we're supposed to come up with a report after we have completed our internship so obviously it must be a good company la right.

I asked for advice from my sister and parents about where to apply and after a lot of persuasion and encouragement from my older sister, I decided to apply to where she's working now, Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Besides that, I've been applying to firms which I think is really tough to get. Most did not reply and a couple rejected. (sucks to be rejected!)

Then, as an employee of that firm, she got an e-mail saying that all internship positions have been filled up so when she told me that piece of news, I was really disappointed because I got a call from them once to follow-up on my application.

This very morning I was at college for an internship briefing and the Head of our department sounded those who still haven't gotten any placement. To cut the long story short, I got an offer there! Hah, in your face. Woohoo. No more stressing about where to work. I was almost about to spam every existing company because I was so worried.

A big shout out to the Almighty One for He never fails :)

Bread or Kopi?

Sorry for the lack of updates. Been stressing about my assignments. Few more days and I'll be done and over with the horrendous assignments.

Anyway, just to relax my mind a little after the many hours of "assignmenting". Hahah.

Checked my e-mail and I gotta say my mum has the lamest humour. LOL.

Which is more talkative?
Bread
OR
Kopi

ANSWER: Bread.
Because BreadTalk but Kopitiam.

Joke of the day.

Today, I saw my Dad using Facebook so I taught him how to use the chat function.

Then I said, 'You can also appear offline if you want you know. Come, I teach you.'

And then my Dad said..

'Nevermind, no need.. I don't lie wan.'

LOL!

Dot dot dot.

I want to update.

I type something then I press the backspace button. Will you be interested in reading how my week went?

I'm gonna type it anyway. Hah.

1. Attended my first Sunrise Service on Easter at some Taman Rimba in KL. Service was mad early at 7.30am! Drizzled for a bit, but it was so worth it because a very pretty rainbow appeared right after that! What a beautiful sight. Rainbow + Nature = Contented soul :)

2. Been really busy with cheer practices. Practice, performance, practice. Cycle repeats. Last time I used to be pretty enthusiastic about hitting the gym to get fitter. Now it's like, 'No thank you. My body needs rest!' Practice is getting so intense and something tells me this is only the beginning.

3. Submitted my internship application to a few companies but have yet to receive any reply. Where else should I apply to?

4. I should really change my sleeping pattern. Panda eyes are not pretty! :(

Okay lah that's it! Goodnight!

In loving memory of Pastor Mark.

Today, a great man of God has gone home to be with the Lord. He is our beloved Pastor Mark who pastors the Grace USJ church.

I only got to find out about the news from my sister when I reached home 2 hours ago. Ironically, I had the sudden thought about my pastor when I was at AC with my friends. And that was about the same time he passed away when I thought of him.

Although I only started to attend the church 2 years ago, it doesn't take a long time to notice what a nice man he was. He is one of the most gentle and soft-spoken person I've met.

We will definitely miss our wonderful pastor. Many questions are running through my mind now, but if you're reading this, please pray for his family to be comforted by the Holy Spirit during this difficult period.

Goodbye Pastor Mark, and till we meet again.

What a day.

Hello! It's been awhile huh...

I just find it so difficult to blog nowadays lah, so please excuse me.

Okay, if you don't already know, getting a parking spot in SEGi College SJ is like winning the jackpot. Alright, slight exaggeration there but you know what I mean. There are only three floors of parking lot to accomodate everybody in the building.

As I was running pretty late, I circled and circled the whole three floors for about three rounds but to no avail. So I had to do what everybody did. Double-park. I absolutely discourage double parking but I really had no choice so I chose the closest car to the pillar and blocked it. I then left my number on the windscreen and hurried to class.

After I entered the class no more than 5 minutes, my handphone rang. Yes, it was the driver whom I blocked sounding very pissed and impatient on the other side of the line saying, 'Can you move your car?' in a rude tone.

I dashed out of the classroom and went all the way down again (my class was at the 8th floor!) to find an angry person waiting for me. When I looked at that person properly, I was so embarrassed...he was my ex-lecturer. Obviously I had to say sorry lah. And as if I haven't attended enough of his lectures, he literally lectured me again on being a responsible driver.

I told my friends about this incident and they laughed. :( But in my defense, one of my friend mentioned that he shouldn't have parked there either because lecturers have their own floor of parking lots. Also, everybody in college is double-parking because that's just how congested it is! And it's not like I left the car without leaving my number. Sheesh.

Lesson learnt:
1. Pray, pray, pray! (I totally forgot the power of prayer)
2. Recognise his car and never park behind him again.

Oh, and since we're at the topic of driving, here's a funny video to make your day :)

Hainan Island Pt 2.

Day Three! (7th Feb, Sunday)

I'm just gonna go ahead and blog with pictures + captions with as little description as possible because if you wanna look up further about that certain place which you might like to visit someday, there's always Google. :)
I have only one word for this place which we went to on that day - BORING!
It's called Boao Forum for Asia and it's where all the ASEAN leaders meet up for important conferences and such.
Next, we went to the Jade Belt Beach. This beach is unique because 'it runs from north to south with connecting the land at the end and naturally forms a long and narrow sand peninsula to separate the Wanquan River from the South China Sea like a jade belt'. So yes, that means it has fresh water on one side and sea water on the other!
There were many fruit vendors.

Have I mentioned that the island is famous for coconuts? So everywhere you go, there were different types of coconut products. The picture above is coconut rice which unfortunately is not to my taste bud's liking. Ordered this as one of the dishes for lunch.
Then we went to this place with loads of trees and plants. Sorry I forgot what it's called. Not worth remembering also as it was quite boring too. Heh.
Coconuts as the base.
Weird looking plant called the cat's tail.
Hahah! My extremely bored face. They were giving out free tea samples.

Next stop was to listen to the wonders of Chinese medicine.
Poor dude had to scald himself with this burning chain to prove that the Bao Fu Ling medicine works immediately for burns and every other diseases. They make it seem like this Bao Fu Ling is a miraculous medicine.
We had to watch him torture himself while we got foot massages.
Everybody seemed so relaxed.

Tour on third day ended early so we headed back to walk around the hotel's area buying souvenirs and chilled at the hotel's cafe sipping coffee and fruit juices.

Day Four! (8th Feb, Monday)
Lined up for the cable car ride to Monkey Island.
LOL. Annoying hair flying across my sister's face.
Hair tamed.
View below as we were up on the cable car.
Who's the sexiest monkey? :)

Scroll down for answer...

TA-DAH!! Say hello to the sexy mama.

Monkeys there are so privileged. They get to roam around freely in the beautiful vast area and they even have their own swimming pool!
See!
I think you need to be a celebrity monkey to be able to chill here. Heh.
Not all monkeys are that privileged though because they have a monkey prison for naughty monkeys!! Hahahah!

Okay, I have to admit I forced a smile in this picture because I was actually really mad at that time. Oh wait... no I didn't. This was before the show started so I was still feeling fine. It was only during the show when all these Chinese ticked me off so bad. We were seated at the front row and they conveniently walked up to the front, blocking us just to get a clearer view of the show. Like literally just place their butts in front of your face. How inconsiderate, uncivilised and rude! >:( Even after being told off, they'll just ignore you. Idiots.
I didn't manage to watch 90% of the show :(

My mood was completely ruined at that moment. How to calm a raging person then?

FOOD :)

Us waiting for the boat to arrive to transport us to the floating restaurant.
After the yummy lunch, we travelled to the next city, Sanya. Oh by the way, I know how to write Sanya in Chinese!! Hahah.
Visited Bing Lang Gu. It's a village where the Li and Miao minority are still living in and has turned into a tourist spot.

The men were pulled by the Li (or was it Miao?) women into a hut for a wedding ceremony.
These women are really good in weaving!
Some of the handmade products in the village.
Buffalos play an important role in this village. The villagers pay respect to the buffalos for protection.
Next, out of the village and somewhere else for a spectacular view of the island.
Pigeons waiting to be fed.
Aww. It's written LOVE in Chinese on the rock.
Managed to catch the sunset. Hahaha geddit?

At the Sanya beach!

Day Five! (9th Feb, Tues)

If I'm not mistaken, this is called Nanshan Cultural Tourism Park.
I love this picture!
Statue of Guan Yin.
For lunch, we had Chinese Ramen noodles in a Halal restaurant. Everybody working there is a Muslim, and they were kinda cute :)

Next stop, Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park.
Our electronic tour guide.
After crossing a suspension bridge. Climbed up the tower.
Last night dinner at a fast food restaurant with our driver on the left and the tour guide on the right.

Hope you've enjoyed viewing the pictures because it took me very long to upload! :)
